Sarah Michelle Gellar and Shannen Doherty have impressively maintained their close friendship since meeting in the nineties while shooting their respective shows on The WB, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed.

Whether they’re performing viral or supporting each other through health battles, the 43-year-old blonde and the 49-year-old brunette still ‘talk every day.’

Sarah gushed of Shannen – who’s battling Stage IV breast cancer – to on Thursday: ‘She’s amazing!’

Surprisingly, Gellar has learned ‘so many’ more recipes from Doherty than her I Know What You Did Last Summer castmate-turned-husband of 18 years, Freddie Prinze Jr.

‘It’s funny, my husband always says that you always learn better from your friends than your spouse,’ the Foodstirs co-founder told the mag.

‘He’s this amazing chef but I never learned from him, because I get so nervous and frustrated and he gets frustrated with me. I’ve learned so many recipes from Shannen during quarantine, because she’s much more patient with me in the kitchen.’

Both Sarah and the 44-year-old Star Wars actor have published cookbooks – Stirring Up Fun with Food in 2017 and Back to the Kitchen in 2016.

Gellar admitted that helping their two children – son Rocky, 7; and daughter Charlotte, 11 – with remote school during COVID-19 quarantine has been ‘extremely difficult.’

‘I think it’s extremely difficult to be parent, referee, principal, teacher, you know, all of that mixed into one,’ the Daytime Emmy winner confessed.

‘It’s been a while since I’ve been in school, and I also don’t have the skill set that’s taught when you go to school for years to really learn how to not.

‘It’s one thing to understand a concept, it’s another thing to be able to teach a concept. That’s my biggest frustration, because I want to do right by my kids, and I’ve been putting pressure on myself to make everything the best I can.’

Meanwhile, the BH90210 producer-star has no children with her third husband, photographer Kurt Iswarienko, and the couple celebrate their ninth wedding anniversary on Thursday.

Career-wise, Sarah next voices Eternos Captain of the Royal Guard Teela in Netflix spin-off Masters of the Universe: Revelation, which starts streaming in summer 2021.
